Army scout, frontiersman, and hero of the yankee West, William F. “Buffalo invoice” Cody used to be additionally a sensible self-promoter, showman, and entrepreneur. In 1888 he released The tale of the Wild West, a suite of biographies of 4 recognized American frontier figures: Daniel Boone, Davy Crockett, package Carson, and himself.
